Marie is a Specialist Dyslexia Teacher and Assessor. An experienced English teacher, literacy coordinator and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo), she brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to support dyslexic learners, their parents and teachers. Her diagnostic assessments and reports provide effective and realistic recommendations and give practical classroom strategies to help teachers meet the needs of their pupils. She is passionate about helping learners understand why they have always had difficulties with learning, and most importantly, she seeks to give dyslexic learners a better understanding of how they learn best, identifying dyslexic strengths and finding the most effective personalised strategies.

Marie also works in schools and colleges to assess students in Years 9-13 for Exam Access Arrangements for GCSEs and A Levels, and attends yearly conferences to stay up to date with JCQ changes. She assesses Further and Higher Education students for SpLD dyslexia so they can apply for Disabled Students’ Allowance. She has an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) and is an associate member of the British Dyslexia Association and the Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS).
