Understanding your lived experience
Specialist, NICE-compliant ADHD screening assessments for adults. We combine clinical expertise with Qb check technology to validate your struggles and unlock your true potential.
The “Why Now?”
The explanation you’ve been waiting for.
Our assessment provides the clinical context to better understand your lived experiences.
Why We Use Technology
Objective Proof, Not Just Opinion.
Many adults worry they are “making it up” or just “need to focus better.” That is why we use the Qb check, an FDA-cleared, objective assessment tool.
How it works
Completed in-clinic, simple, non-invasive and objective data collection.
The Data
It measures Hyperactivity, Inattention and Impulsivity.
The Result
The check is designed to provide objective data that can support diagnosis, comparing the test taker’s results to normative data from individuals of similar age and gender.

The Assessment Pathway
A comprehensive clinical assessment.
Our pathway follows NICE Guidelines and best practice.
Information Gathered
Forms are completed to explore developmental history and traits, including ACE/ADHD rating scales and full medical history.
The QbCheck
Completed in clinic, simple, non-invasive and objective data collection.
Face-to-Face Clinical Interview
You will meet with our qualified, Assistant Psychologist and Neurodevelopmental Practitioner to discuss strengths, challenges and your broader lived experiences. They will discuss the impact of your suspected ADHD symptomology on your job, relationships and mental health.
The Browns Executive Functioning Test
This test, which is completed in clinic, assesses a child or an adult’s executive functioning skills, which are the cognitive processes that help with goal directed behaviour, planning, organisation and self regulation.
Feedback & Report
Our practitioners will compile a report based on the information gathered throughout the assessment, providing you with clarity and understanding and a clear evidence base to request workplace adjustments under the Equality Act.
Why get diagnosed as an adult?
The practical benefits.
A diagnosis is more than just validation; it is a tool for change.
Workplace Protection
Equality Act 2010
Your report allows you to evidence need when requesting Reasonable Adjustments (like flexible hours, quiet desks, alternative schedules or assistive software).
Self-Compassion
Mental Health
Understanding yourself allows you understand your past struggles and start working with them, being kinder to yourself, reducing anxiety and shame.
Combined assessments
Seeing the whole picture.
Whilst some providers offer combined Autism and ADHD assessments, we offer two separate assessments rather than a combined package, with a discounted rate and support to help you navigate both pathways.
The Benefits
Why choose our assessment pathway?

Clinical Accuracy
Assessing for Autism and ADHD separately helps reduce the risk of misdiagnosis and allows us to distinguish clearly between overlapping traits.

Cost & Time Efficient
Although the assessments are completed separately, booking both with us helps streamline the process and includes a discounted rate.

Comprehensive Reports
You will receive detailed, evidence-based reports, one for each assessment we undertake. The autism diagnostic report includes clear, practical recommendations for education and work settings, whilst the ADHD report outlines ADHD-related traits and areas of difficulty to support understanding and next steps.
Who is this for?
Signs of co-occurrence.
Do you (or your child) have a strong need for routine (Autism), but find it difficult to maintain (ADHD)?
Do you have intense interests (Autism), but find your focus shifts quickly between them (ADHD)?
Do you find social cues difficult to interpret (Autism), while also talking frequently or interrupting others (ADHD)?
Do you experience sensory overwhelm (Autism), alongside more impulsive or intense emotional reactions (ADHD)?
The AYC Difference
Why Choose Us?
Face-to-Face Option: Choosing AYC means a face-to-face, in-depth assessment delivered by experienced clinicians. This allows us to capture important nuances that online tools may miss, while providing a more personal approach and detailed, high-quality reports.

Common Questions
We can screen you beforehand and advise whether both assessments are likely to be needed. If you proceed with both, the assessments may confirm ADHD but not Autism (or vice versa). You would still receive a full report for each assessment, explaining clearly how the diagnostic conclusions were reached.
Each appointment takes up to 2 hours but don’t worry, it isn’t completed in one day and can be spread out over several weeks.
